the wisdom of tulips

“Nature can bring you stillness. That is its gift to you.” Eckhart Tolle
Painting flowers is a joyful process. My mom, an exceptional gardener, had a major surgery in 2015 and I had the honor of caring for her. While she was recovering, I started painting flowers for her as entertainment. I experienced so much joy while observing and painting them, I never stopped. Most often I paint flowers in acrylic; however this workshop will be taught with watercolors.
This workshop will include:
- Reflection questions about your life inspired by the wisdom of a tulip
- Creative exercises to break through blocks and stories that don’t serve us (ex. “I am not an artist.”)
- Tips and skills to paint tulips
- Space for connection
It is designed with a beginner watercolor artist in mind.

“I don’t want to spoil too much. But it’s not actually about the tulips. Or the paintings. Or being an artist. It’s about learning to unlearn. About remembering that you were born perfect. And that you still are. I still am.” - Courtney Ochoa
“Your workshops for me are quite simply a gift. I think I find them so lovely because you are able to convey to others a sensibility about all that surrounds us - the beauty, the simplicity of looking closely at the world, embracing our own creativity. You are able to share that in your quiet, thoughtful way without any affectation.” - Beth Armstrong
